Nationally acclaimed ISHIDA Dance Company is back.

Pulitzer Prize-winning dance critic Sarah L. Kaufman described Ishida’s work as “deeply poignant” and “remarkable.” Brett Cullum of Broadway World wrote: “The dancers weaved pure magic in the air, and you could almost hear jaws dropping as they moved…”

headlights gone black is a visually stunning, emotionally resonant international program with critically acclaimed dancers and choreography. A bold program with the first-ever dance theater rendering of Wim Wenders’ iconic film Paris, TEXAS by ISHIDA set to music by Beach House.

The program includes Midnight Raga (originally created on Nederlands Dans Theater) by internationally renowned German choreographer Marco Goecke and a U.S. premiere by award-winning Spanish choreographer Alba Castillo. The program closes with a reimagining of George Orwell’s iconic 1984 by ISHIDA—a visceral world of surveillance, forbidden intimacy, and the perilous desire to remain human. Expect meticulous physicality and an experience that will draw you in and imprint images that will haunt you.
